Dreams of Orisha is a zine series that celebrates the brilliance, magick and creative richness that is Black queer/trans women and femmes of Canada.
This forth-coming publication created by the grassroots organization and transnational visibility project QueerofGender serves as an altar to the many Orishas of the West African diaspora.
With this publication, we are seeking to:
- Create and distribute art that reflects and speaks to our resilience and collective fierceness as Black queer/trans women and femmes.
- Honour and (re)claim the many hxstories of our ancestors in the hopes of creating new narratives of truth-seeking, healing, liberation and love.
- Challenge our communities to be unapologetic in their Blackness.
- Amplify and centre the voices of those of us whose stories are yet to be heard and those of us whose stories who will never be forgotten.
